Green Roofs
OUTSIDE UNLIMITED is at the forefront of the green building industry. From
intensive and extensive green roofs to green screens we have the equipment and experienced personnel
to get the job done on time and within budget. Our experience spans from craning topsoil mixes and
plants into raised planters on a one story parking garage roof to blowing nearly 11,346 tons of a
lightweight Stalite soil mix with specialized trucks and planting 175,659 plant plugs onto a 6 acre
extensive green roof. The largest green roof of its kind on the East Coast.
OUTSIDE UNLIMITED's staff is ready to estimate and produce your green project.
Our estimating staff has the experience to supply you everything from prebid budget numbers through a complete
scope estimate package. Once the job is awarded our team of project managers and production coordinators
take over and begin to pull together the necessary materials, equipment and manpower to meet your schedule.
We are committed to growing with the green building movement. We now have two Express Blower mulch trucks each
capable of transporting 60 yards of material and installing as much as 3,000 cu./yds. per day. These trucks are
critical for installations that have weight restrictions for the type of machinery that can be used on a roof.
Custom blended soils can be blown up multiple stories or blown across large expanses of roof.
Over the years OUTSIDE UNLIMITED has worked to build relationships with green industry vendors,
universities dedicated to the advancement of green roofs and professional organizations striving to develop LEED
certification regulations such as:
- Emory Knoll Farms
- Ernst Conservation Seeds
- Carolina Stalite Company
- University Of Maryland
- Penn State University
- Associated Builders & Contractors
- Green Roofs For Healthy Cities
- Green Building Institute
